K&L Gates Adds Litigation and Dispute Resolution Lawyer to Chicago Office

Chicago – Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Alicia Hawley as an of counsel in its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice area. Hawley joins the firm’s Chicago office from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.

With more than two decades of experience, Hawley focuses on both routine and complex e-discovery matters, best practices, case and narrative development, fact investigations, and discovery strategy. Blending her legal and technical backgrounds, Hawley regularly serves as coordinating discovery counsel on major litigations and government investigations and counsels clients on the various phases of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model.

Hawley has represented Fortune 100 companies, banks, broker-dealers, C-suite executives, and financial institutions in investigations and prosecutions by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the US Department of Justice, the Illinois Inspector General, and various state Attorneys General. She also has experience with Financial Industry Regularly Authority (FINRA) arbitrations, commercial civil disputes, antitrust matters, and patent, trademark, and trade secret litigation including disputes in front of the International Trade Commission. In addition to her work focused on e-discovery, Hawley also maintains a practice related to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Hawley’s arrival follows the addition of several other lawyers to K&L Gates’ Chicago office in the past year, including asset management and investment funds partners Kevin Gustafson and Christopher Lokken and real estate partner Larry Woodard.
