Based on her firsthand experiences both recently with Hurricane Irma and over many years in the industry, Ms. Hamm discusses the importance of emergency planning, support procedures, and both internal and external communication during a time of crisis. Ms. Hamm also highlights the importance of mental health and emotional support for residents, as well as team members dealing with the stress of a traumatic event.
