K&L Gates Recognized for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion
12 September 2016
Seattle - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP recently was recognized by longtime client Lockheed Martin for the firm’s commitment to inclusion and diversity. Announced during Lockheed Martin’s annual legal conference, the honor was based on the results of an assessment by the global security and aerospace company of the strength and diversity of its outside legal teams, including, for example, the percentage of minority and female timekeepers working on Lockheed Martin matters.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Lockheed Martin for our excellence in this important area,” said Pallavi Mehta Wahi, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ Seattle office and the firm’s relationship partner to Lockheed Martin. “K&L Gates is proud to be a member of the Lockheed Martin legal team and its ‘one company, one team, all-inclusive’ approach to diversity.”
This is the first year that Lockheed Martin has recognized a law firm for excellence in the areas of diversity and inclusion.
K&L Gates strives to create a culture of inclusion and diversity that promotes success for both the firm and its clients. In addition to the firm’s inclusion on Yale Law Women’s prestigious list of the Top 10 Family Friendly Firms of 2016, K&L Gates also was named the Outstanding Firm for Furthering Women’s Advancement (Recruitment, Retention and Promotion) in the 2015 Chambers Women in Law Awards, USA, and has been recognized as a “Top 100 Law Firm for Diversity” and a “Top 100 Law Firm for Women” by MultiCultural Law magazine; as a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign, having earned a top rating of 100 percent in their Corporate Equality Index survey for the past six consecutive years; and with a Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum.
