K&L Gates Continues Growth of Washington, D.C., Office with Antitrust, Competition and Trade Regulation Partner Addition

Washington, D.C. - The Washington, D.C., office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Allen R. Bachman as a partner in the antitrust, competition and trade regulation practice. Bachman joins the firm from Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP, where he served as head of the antitrust practice.
Bachman focuses his practice on various aspects of antitrust law, representing clients in merger clearance proceedings before the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division and Federal Trade Commission as well as in complex antitrust disputes in federal and state courts. He also counsels clients on the impact of antitrust laws on their business activities, including standard setting, trade association participation, compliance programs and audits, sales and marketing practices, and licensing, royalty, and settlement agreements.

During his career, Bachman has represented clients across a wide spectrum of industries, including oilfield services, mining, drilling equipment, waste collection, industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, petroleum production and refining, government contracting, electronic control systems, software, and numerous healthcare sectors. Prior to practicing law, Bachman served as an economic analyst for the DOJ Antitrust Division.
K&L Gates’ antitrust, competition and trade regulation practice has a significant presence in the United States, the European Union, Australia, and the Asia-Pacific region, with the firm’s lawyers having handled complex antitrust/competition law matters on every continent except Antarctica. The lawyers in the practice defend clients in some of the largest global cartel investigations, parallel civil cases, and class actions, in addition to obtaining regulatory clearance of multi-billion dollar transactions for Fortune 500 companies.
Bachman is the seventh new partner or public policy professional addition to K&L Gates’ Washington, D.C., office this year, following the earlier arrivals of Grace P. Fremlin and Joon Yoon (corporate/M&A and IP); Donald A. Dempsey, Roderick D. Hall, and Stephen Martinko (public policy and law); and Ori Lev (consumer financial services).
