K&L Gates Boosts Health Care Practice with Senior In-House Counsel Hires in Dallas and Research Triangle Park
Dallas and Research Triangle Park - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Jacqueline B. Hoffman as a partner and Lindsey Rogers-Seitz as an of counsel in its health care practice. Based in the firm’s Dallas office, Hoffman joins K&L Gates from Tenet Healthcare, where she served as senior counsel, while Rogers-Seitz arrives in the firm’s Research Triangle Park office from University of Colorado Health (UCHealth), where she was associate general counsel.
A Texas Board Certified Health Law Specialist, Hoffman focuses her practice on hospital operations, advising health care facilities in connection with transactions with referral sources, false claims, and other compliance matters. In addition, Hoffman counsels on hospital medical staff and patient issues, including privacy and risk matters, as well as on initiatives in telemedicine and facility and service line expansions. Hoffman also provides federal statutory and regulatory guidance in transactional matters and operational issues for newly acquired and existing health care facilities.
As lead counsel for the UCHealth southern region, Rogers-Seitz advised management and board leadership on a variety of corporate and regulatory matters, including the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Joint Commission standards, and other health care regulations. She also has experience in complex business transactions, such as hospital mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, entity formation and governance, and drafting and reviewing physician and vendor contracts, operating agreements, and professional services agreements, among others.
“We are very excited that Jackie and Lindsey are joining the K&L Gates health care practice,” said Mary Beth Johnston, managing partner of K&L Gates’ Research Triangle Park office and co-leader of the firm’s global health care practice. “They each bring a knowledge and depth of experience which will be extremely beneficial to our clients.”
The arrivals of Hoffman and Rogers-Seitz follow the addition of former UNC-Chapel Hill counsel Rebecca Schaefer to the Research Triangle Park office earlier this year. K&L Gates’ health care lawyers counsel clients – including major academic medical centers, tertiary care hospitals and established community and regional health care providers, and national health care businesses – on a variety of state and federal regulatory and compliance issues affecting operations, expansions, and reorganizations.
