K&L Gates Advises Equinix on French Real Estate Matters to Develop US$1 Billion European Data Center Project

Paris - Lawyers from the Paris office of global law firm K&L Gates have advised global interconnection and data center company Equinix on the French real estate matters relating to an 80:20 joint venture agreement with Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC to develop six hyperscale data centers in Europe for more than US$1 billion.
Under the agreement, the joint venture will acquire data centers in London and Paris delivering approximately 31MW of power, with future development of four additional data centers in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London to provide 155 megawatts of power. Equinix will develop, operate, and manage the data centers.
The K&L Gates team that advised Equinix on the legal ownership structuring and development of the Paris data center was led by Joanna Klat and Edouard Vitry alongside associates Sylvie Chandesris and Blandine Bourelle.
