当事務所に入所する前は、日本の法律事務所で特許実務チームを統括。この職務を通じ、弁理士を指導・監督し、米国、ドイツ、英国における事業開発を支援。また、国内外の特許出願の特許実務を主導し、国内パートナーの特許訴訟に関するアドバイスも提供。
